No matter your flavor of fun, Chico has your scoop!

Nightlife

Downtown Chico is home to a variety of world-class bars and restaurants nestled next to cozy college haunts and easy coffee bars. The beloved local Banshee, famous for its mac and cheese and Bahn Mi tacos, was recently featured on an episode of The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Contemporary-chic Crush offers views from the second story and a fresh fusion menu, while Tres Hombres serves up the best margarita in the city. Order a hot Bowl of Soul tea drink at Naked Lounge on cool days, or try your hand at corn hole on Parkside Tap Houses outdoor patio.

As you head out of town, stop for a pint and some tunes at Allies Pub, a British-themed eatery and brewery in a historic brick building. Stay straight on Fifth Street, and you’ll end up smack dab in the heart of the college bar scene, most notably Riley’s Bar and Grill, named the best college Bar in America in 2021 by Barstool Sports.

Away from Downtown, the Lost Dutchman offers visitors and residents an outdoor beer garden experience, residing next door to our very own speakeasy, Strong Water. Drive 10 minutes into Durham and enjoy a Trivia night at Almendra Winery & Distillery.

Social Groups

Prefer to socialize by day? Chico offers opportunities to gather around myriad interests. Butte Creek Country Club and Canyon Oaks offer a chance to golf and gather. Chico Bocce and Altacal Audubon Society, Inc. get members outside, while clubs like the Bidwell Bridge Club and Chico Home Brewers Club can socialize over cards and brews.

Service Clubs

Looking for a way to get involved in the community–and give back? Chico loves nothing better than to lend a helping hand, as evidenced by service organizations like the Exchange Club, the Elks Club (whose meeting hall is home to myriad community functions and events), the Eagles Club, and the Active 20-30 Club. All are actively involved in projects that give back both locally and abroad.
